WWDC ‘07: Settling the score

WWDC 2007 So, the moment you’ve been waiting for. We get to double check our predictions against reality. First, me, because you all care just so much.

Under the correct category, I was right about Leopard features revealed, iPhone talk, no hardware, no virtualization in Leopard, and no iPhone SDK. Wow I’m good. Now for all of you.

Will: no iPhone interface in MacBooks, no new Apple displays

sjm: no iLife updates

jayH: no iMac case update, but I don’t think you were 100% on that idea

Walt: no new iPods (your pain floats through the net), no iMac redesign, right about just talk of Leopard, wrong about iWork and iLife, talk of the fake SDK (half credit)

Ricardo: I correctly purposely left iLife and iWork out

pos: you’re right, nuthin

Erik: I liked your idea a lot, but it looks like it didn’t happen

Stan: no Beatles

Walt French: no word yet

I expect better predictions for the next keynote guys.

Thanks Derik. Maybe you could pour some salt in my wounds too? Stupid no iPods. ;-)

well there you go!

I was a little bit dissapointed to tell the truth. I was hoping for something a bit more interesting. No mention of iWork or iLife '07 - it's not going to be worth introducing it seeing as it's almost 2008, and I was hoping that Jobs would say that Leopard is available today like he did with Tiger.

Ahh well

On another note...

I hope that they keep their array of standard desktop backgrounds. I'm using Tiger blue right now, I for one really like the look of it.

The spot light button looked really crap with the new transparancy design on the menu bar. It looked like a circle drawn up in Microsoft Paint, and I hope that there is an option to turn transparancy off, or at least alter the level of transparancy.

The new finder buttons seem to be squeezed in really close to the bottom of the unified block at the top of the window. Why don't they centralise it, it looks sloppy. I also noticed that almost every window now looks like iTunes. Why!? We need some alternation.

As for everything else, I can't wait! But I think that they're getting a bit messier with the GUI
