The Apple Store is down!

Posted by Aayush Arya | Tuesday, January 08, 2008 4:56 AM PT

Apple Store downIt’s a Tuesday morning and the Apple Store is currently displaying that tiny little sticky that makes us fans go numb with excitement and impatient anticipation. Yes, the store is down, folks. It appears that they’re busy updating it for us.

So what is it this time? New displays? Updated Mac Pros? With just a week to go before the big Macworld keynote, I’m pretty sure it’s nothing to get worked up about. Regular maintenance or something - cleaning out the cob webs and stuff, you know.

If something happens, we’ll let you know. Don’t hold your breath though. (Ah, a rhyme! Am I a poet in the making or what!)

Update: I was woefully wrong. The Store is down for a reason (yes, it isn’t back up yet) and a pretty good one at that. Behold the new Mac Pro and Xserve. I guess I need to get my third eye checked one of these days.

Update 2: It is online again now and is, quite predictably, sporting the new Mac Pro and Xserve on the front page. You can also pre-order Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac for $149.95 now.

You guys are slow. Engadget announced the new macs way before macworld(you still haven't at the time of this posting). What's up with that? new web design, slower access times(cause of all the advertising), and shoddy reporting.

New Macbook pro's. Cool, but so far out of most people's price range it makes the mind boggle.

Though I have to say the ability to hook up 8 monitors is amazing.

I see just new Mac Pros and Xserves. I think the Macbook Pros are priced fine for their market, and most people (or companies) can afford these just fine. Macbook Pros are not for college students or home use, hence the Pro name.

Also have a new Xserve!

Also, interestingly, both machines can be set with a single processor and have the other socket, I suppose, Terminated. Will be nice to see the prices on them then.

^^ 8 Monitors on a Macbook pro? I'm sure you mean Mac Pro... which has been in fact updated.
