802.11n in Core 2 MacBooks too?

Core 2 Duo MacBookI was wondering about this the other day. We’ve had reports of 802.11n chips in both the Core 2 Duo Mac Book Pros and the Core 2 Duo iMacs. With the release of the new Core 2 Duo MacBooks the other week, it seems only logical that Apple would have put the chips in those models as well.

We’re hearing rumors to this effect, but we’re curious to appeal to our readers: any of you have new Core 2 Duo MacBooks? Can you confirm or deny these reports?

The thinking at the moment is that these chips are being put in to provide forward compatibility with the forthcoming iTV device, which may use 802.11n. The problem, of course, is that the 802.11n draft has not yet been certified and, at last report, was not due to receive final approval until 2008. This means that 802.11n gear from different manufacturers is not guaranteed to be interoperable until the standard is passed. It looks as though Apple may have gotten tired of waiting.

How does one check this? I have a new MacBook Core 2, but don't know where this information can be found.

Danny,
you can unscrew the necessary screws can then lift up the macbook keyboard to reveal the inner components. Look for an Airport card (or it might be from another manufacturer).

Another way is to install Windows Vista using Boot Camp and then check
