It’s little secret that I’m a bit of a TV freak. Since I haven’t graduated from cable to iTunes yet, and I don’t have a DVR, I need a way of remembering when all my shows air. I suppose I could just try and use my own “onboard” memory, but that fails even at simple tasks like “remember that you’re out of milk,” so a technological solution would probably be preferable.
Matthew Comi’s TV Forecast Dashboard widget hits the spot. Add your favorite TV shows to this simple little program and it’ll tell you when the next episode is airing; all you need to do is remember the shows’ names and remember to hit F12 every once in a while.
Adding a TV show is as simple as typing its name in the box on the back of the widget: if there are multiple shows with that name, it’ll give you the option of picking one (unless I miss my guess, it’s grabbing the info from TV.com).
Now, if only there were a widget for coping with the fact that Heroes is on hiatus for the next six weeks.
