This post has taken far longer to write than it should have. The trouble is the topic itself: a “toy” for OS X called BallDroppings. I promise you, it’s one thousand times more enjoyable than its name implies. And while I can’t describe the game in any terms that would really do it justice, I can can tell you that so far, it’s been a toy, a physics experiment, and even a musical instrument to me. And I’ve only had it for 20 minutes.
BallDroppings is available for mobile phones, Windows, Mac and online as a java applets, for the time tested price of free. Though it’s not readily apparent from the screenshot, you won’t regret this download (that is, until you’ve squandered half the night trying to make it play Twinkle Twinkle, when you really should have been working on your blog post.)
