It’s Friday, and because the day starts with “f”, we need some freeware. Mesa Dynamics, the people behind Amnesty, have released Amnesty Generator. It’s free and has a very specific purpose. It takes those cool little web applets you can embed into your Google customized homepage and packages them up as Dashboard widgets.
It goes to show just how much these widget/gadget/etc. products have in common. While you can easily convert Google gadgets to Dashboard widgets, the reverse conversion is likely impossible because many, if not most, Dashboard widgets utilize specific Javascript calls offered only in Dashboard. It’s nice to suddenly have a much larger widget library to choose from. Cheers to Mesa Dynamics for making this available free.
