Because Microsoft’s Office has always been expensive and the most recent version left out functionality that business and even some home users have come to rely upon, Mac users on the prowl for a new office suite has been at an all time high. I found refuge in iWork, but Apple’s solution isn’t right for everyone.
It was for that reason that we were really excited to hear that Sun was employing someone to port their StarOffice software to the Mac. It’s finally here in beta form. You can download an try it out.
While free during the beta phase, it will cost $69.95 when it’s released in final form. At that price, it’s definitely worth a look.
