I like browsing MacUpdate’s listing to see which of my applications have been updated and to catch new applications as they get released. I’ve discovered many of my favorite applications this way (LaunchBar for example).
I found what looked to be a really interesting new application Sleep Blaster. There are many alarm clock applications out there. More than I’d ever care to list. Here’s the twist: you can yell at your Mac to make the alarm go off. In fact, the catch phrase for the app is “yelling at your alarm finally works!”
The ironic thing is that I’ve found that the application doesn’t work at all. Every attempt to launch it has been met with that happy crash decision dialog. Somehow I doubt it’s going to be able to wake me up. However, it is making me audibly curse. I was really looking forward to exhausted screaming in the morning too.
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
Humm .. Sorry to say that mine seems to work fine !
The demo version though.
I'm gonna set an alarm in 5 minutes and try to yell at my iMac.
I think Jaguar is not supported. Maybe it explains why yours don't work at all ?
Just jokin'. Great little discovery M. DeLong
Perhaps this app is for Leopard and intel macs only. Won't run on my G5 PowerPC iMac but runs fine on my intel macbook pro...
What version of Mac OS X are you using? Sleep Blaster uses some services that are only found in Leopard, and as such we weren't able to support Tiger and earlier. Sorry about this.

Dude, update your Mac!! If you had read the Sleep Blaster system requirements, you would have seen you have to have Leopard installed. Do that, and Sleep Blaster will work just fine. And your software reviews will immediately become a bit more intelligent.
Eamon, I use Leopard on all my machines (gotta have the latest and greatest). I did try this on a Powerbook G4 if that makes a difference.
Xenophon, let me quote Abraham Lincoln for you. "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." I have Leopard. You might want to know whether I do or don't have Leopard before you start commenting on my intelligence.
Derik:
You're using Leopard? Then it must be a problem on PPC Macs... Unfortunately we don't have any (working) ppc macs to test on right now, but I will see what I can do about this! Thanks for letting me know.
Both of my macs run the latest version of leopard but PPC won't work but intel does...
I will do whatever I can to get my hands on a PPC Mac, and support for this should be coming soon!
For the record, we released Sleep Blaster 1.0.1 today, which comes with PowerPC support!
