Logan Rockmore Design __ Mail Unread Menu.jpgIf you have auto-hide activated for your Dock, then you’re probably used to habitually bringing your mouse to the bottom of your screen throughout the day to make the Dock pop up so you can check if your Mail.app icon has any unread messages listed. “There’s got to be a better way to stay up to date on new mail without having to de-activate auto hide for my Dock” you’ve surely thought to yourself. Well there is, lucky reader, there is.

Logan Rockmore Design’s Mail Unread Menu app intends to make the dock pop shuffle a thing of the past. It’s a small notifying app that interfaces with Mail.app and rests in your menu bar, making it easy to always keep an eye on your mailbox even if you have your Dock on auto-hide. The best thing about it? It’s free (although donations are accepted). So check it out, and be sure to never miss that oh so important urgent e-mail again.
