I’m all about productivity-uppers: task managers, application launchers, amphetamines, keyboard shortcuts, etc.
I mean, I don’t actually do anything productive. But if I ever had to, I’d definitely be prepared.
And in my constant vigilance to maintain such preparedness, I’ve downloaded and am vehemently vetting the 3.0 update to Keyboard Maestro, a macro and scripting utility that enables you to establish hotkeys for practically any task.
With Keyboard Maestro you can design a custom action sequence with your own shortcuts and activate them at any time, you can navigate through running applications and open windows with Program Switcher, and you can work with an unlimited number of clipboards - all by pressing simple keystrokes.
Notable new features include the ability to create macros by recording your mouse/keyboard actions, as well as enabling/disabling macros, individual action macros, several new ways to trigger macros, more actions, a prettier interface, and more.
Check the site for some vids, and the full feature-update list for version 3.0. It’s available to download and will set you back $36.
