Leopard anticipation is killing me

Posted by Derik DeLong | Monday, October 15, 2007 7:46 AM PT

October 26th We’re halfway into October and still not a single word about Leopard. I’m not expecting its release quite yet, but I’m definitely looking for a release date announcement. With but a couple weeks left, Apple has said nothing. I can’t take the suspense.

At this point, it’s almost as if Apple is trying to drive me crazy. On Friday, the Apple Store changed the availability for Tiger as October 26th. Slip up or coincidence? You decide.

In the meantime, I’ll be desperately anticipating the new OS to play with.

I know... The suspense is killing me too. I am waiting for its release so that I can put my iPhone credit towards the purchase. All I have to put from my pocket is $29.

I am really looking forward to the new Mail (which I'm hoping will sync tasks and memos to the iPhone), Calendar(new look is very nice) and Spaces. I'm all about productivity.

Maybe Steve Jobs knows Leopard really isn't ready and wants to minimize the number of people upgrading to it until it gets a few update?

Previous versions of OS X have been announced around the 16th and 17th, so its early days yet - kinda. I wouldn't be surprised if its delayed until January anyway, but it would look so bad on their part.

I think the whole point of this post is to say that no one knows the shipping date of Leopard, and with only 16 days remaining, we can't (don't have to) wait much longer.

As to the rest of you, I definitely agree... Moving from Panther to Tiger with my MacBook has been so interesting, its time to explore something new!

I am waiting for the Leopard release to join the great migration... Hopefully it will be out here before Christmas.

Hey guys, I read an article at http://www.macworld.com/topics/hardware/macsystems/maclaptops/ and it indicates Oct 26, which is the last friday of this month. When Apple released Tiger in 2005, it also chose the last Friday of the month to start selling the new operating system. So, remember, remember, the 26th of October!
