The Apple Design Awards are like the Grammies, only at WWDC. Wait, no, that’s an insult to ADAs. The Oscars. The Apple Design Awards are like the Oscars, only at WWDC. Fine, my similes are lacking this morning. Apple’s description:
The Apple Design Awards, held at Moscone West during the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, recognizes technical excellence, innovation, and outstanding achievement in software development.
I was close. It’s a huge honor for Mac developers to receive one of these. This year, it’s not just for Mac software anymore either. iPhone developers get to be part of the pageantry. This year’s categories are:
iPhone and Leopard category winners will receive two 15-inch MacBook Pros, 2 30-inch Cinema Displays, a 16 GB iPod Touch, an 8 GB iPhone, an ADC Premier Membership, reimbursement for one WWDC 2008 E-ticket including airfare and accommodations, and one 2009 ADC Macworld Expo Exclusive Marketing Package. Yowza. Student winners get the same package, except one each on the MBP and ACD, no iPhone, and the student membership.
Entries will be accepted beginning Tuesday, April 15 and ending at 5PM (PDT) Monday, May 12, 2008. Submitted software will be uploaded via FTP. Good luck to all (not really, I’m secretly wishing extra luck to Massachusetts area developers, take it all guys).
