Normally, the whole Getting Things Done fad just escapes me. It seems to me that all of its biggest “solutions” are just verbose explanations of behaviors that should be present naturally, at least in the lives of people prone to getting things done anyway. Still, some of the products that have come under the the Getting Things Done banner have been pretty useful, even for those of us who get things done without Getting Things Done. One of those apps is iGTD.
iGTD is a basic to-do list manager on speed. It makes other to-do list managers look as elegant as scrawling your ideas and tasks on a piece of toilet paper and keeping the roll in in a satchel that you call your “productivity repository” (which may or may not have been what I was doing up until now). iGTD provides project management based on context, which is an interesting new way to present your tasks. In addition to this, you can set different projects for different contexts, and even sync your iGTD setup with iCal. iGTD also supports iSync, syncing with your mobile phone becomes possible as well.
Of all of the features of iGTD, that could be my favorite, since it’s often that I need to do things that aren’t merely on my computer, which is where many productivity apps begin and end. With support for Quicksilver, the ability to attach links to websites or files inside of tasks, and keyboard shortcuts galore, iGTD has one more surprise. It’s free. So put it on your list.
Edit: Added link to product’s web site.
I wonder if this is based on the My Dream App contestant also called "iGTD"... If I remember well, an app called iGTD wasn't around at the time of My Dream App. Of course, it's not like it's the most original name, but still a coincidence.
