If you have a university student ID, and don’t want to shell out the full price for Leopard ($129), nor the online education store price ($116), you’re probably eligible for a cheaper (and legal!) copy of Leopard. TUAW is reporting a tentative university bookstore price of $70.
Back in the day, Tiger apparently went for $40 using this same method.
If you do manage to score Leopard this way, please let us know what university you pulled off this neat trick at in the comments, m’kay?
I'm a student at the University of North Texas. I've already asked our bookstore, and they confirmed a $69 pricetag for Leopard.
Carnegie Mellon University has Leopard listed at $69, and is confirming that they are selling at 6PM on release day.
Iowa State's bookstore will have it for $69.
American University Bookstore (Washington, DC) told me that they'll know the price once the shipment of Leopard comes in and they implied it's likely to be close to $100 off. I'm going to check as soon as it comes in and if it's anywhere close to that I'm definitely buying.
SMU (Dallas) $99
$89 at the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada).
The University of Washington has confirmed the $69 price, and reports that they've ordered at least 1000 units.
UCF (Central Florida) $69
to person who commented ucf..where do you see it for $69?
i went on their online bookstore and i did not find it..could you point me to it please?
UCSD (University of California, San Diego) and UCLA are both selling it for $69 at the bookstore. They are selling it on Friday at 6pm.
69$ at the showcase.
