Only days after Windows XP has successfully been run on an Intel Mac, someone has already been able to play Half-Life 2 on one. Two videos were posted online today, a short one and a long one, that show an Intel Mini booting into XP and then playing Half-Life 2. This is a big deal because it means that someone has finally been able to get some workable DVI drivers for the Mini (the previous ones were built-in and couldn’t handle any serious video playback). Right now the Mini is the only Intel Mac with real video drivers for XP, though drivers for the MacBook Pro and iMac will probably be on the way soon. Half-Life 2 may be cool, but all I need is Star Wars Battlefront 2 running on my Mac, and I’ll be set.
