Guided Tours and video tutorials galore

HannahOne recent trend Apple’s been following is creating video tutorials for new and updated products. First, there was the iPhone Guided Tour, then the Leopard Guided Tour, the MacBook Air Quick Tour, and so on. Plus, for iLife and iWork ‘08, Apple produced more specific video tutorials on particular features.

Today’s Apple TV update and Aperture 2 releases are no different.

In the Guided Tour category, the lovely Hannah takes you through the new Apple TV features, with a strong emphasis on iTunes movie rentals. You probably won’t learn anything new, but if anything, it’s a good way for Mom to learn how it all works.

As for Aperture 2, Apple has a lot of content available for your viewing pleasure. You can view a few Quick Tours on the Features page, but the real meat is on the Tutorials page, which hosts more than 40 short screencasts on specific features.

I don’t plan on buying Aperture 2 just yet, but until I have a faster Mac, a good digital SLR and money to spare, these little tutorials satisfy my creative hunger. Sad, I know.
