Apple Matters posted a review of quite an interesting application today. It’s called Rita, which just so happens to be the Swedish word for “draw” (Coincidence? Nope.). Rita is a sort of infinitely scalable, enhancing, limitless, creative, vector drawing program. Oh yeah, and it’s free too.
Rita’s main purpose seems to be that of a cartoonist’s canvas, allowing the creation of graphics of any size, that can be enhanced, smoothed, and generally made to look like you actually knew what you were doing. Additionally, Niklas Frykholm, the creator of Rita, sees the application as a place to jot down notes, write music, or use as graph paper. You can even create templates to make your future work even faster (several are included with the application).
So this weekend, if you’re bored (and not making a web page), give Rita a try. Although still in its early stages of development, it seems to be quite a promising, fun, and creative little app.
No, actually, it costs $20, according to the website.
