We’ve all had it happen before: you want to delete a file or eject a disk, but when you try to do so you’re met with an arcane message telling you that the file or disc is “in use” by a mysterious application. Unfortunately you are never told * what * application is using the unwanted file or drive, and so you end up having to quit everything that’s open or even restart your computer in order to free up the file.
What’s Keeping Me is a cool app that will identify the mystery app that’s using your soon-to-be-deleted file. Just enter the name of the file or the drive and the process that’s preventing you from completing your task will be displayed, along with the option to quit, relaunch, or kill the program appliance.
Pretty sweet, right? It gets sweeter. The app is a free download (donation requested), so check it out and report back!
