Cyrus noted that Quark 7 is PowerPC only, prompting the question “where is the Universal Binary?” Quark executives and senior vice president Jurgen Kurz must have heard him and jumped to the ready with a response on the status of the Universal Binary.
“I can tell you it’s running fast as hell,” Quark senior vice president Jurgen Kurz told Macworld at the unveiling of the new version of QuarkXPress Tuesday.
When that version is released to the public, it will be free for owners of the current PowerPC version (which reportedly runs fine under Rosetta). I hope this starts a trend.
