We’re all about tapping into photo-sharing site Flickr. We’ve shown you how to easily upload your photos, or use it as a source for your screensaver. Now we bring you a way for Flickr to liven up your desktop image.
To be frank, I probably wouldn’t have named my app DeskLickr, but well, it more or less does what it says on the tin. Once installed, you can set it up to have your desktop picture changed automatically at an interval you set, or manually. The preferences allow you to stream only images from your own photos, your favorites, a group you belong to, or a specific tag, and you can further refine the pool by adding certain desktops to an “exclude list” as they come up.
By default, DeskLickr also shows a little pop-up window that tells you more about the photo: who took it and when. Clicking on the pop-up takes you to that photo’s page on Flickr. It’d be nice if there was some Growl support for notifcations, or a few more options on photo-streaming (just showing the latest images from your contacts would be cool), but DeskLickr’s still a pretty nifty piece of software for those looking to find new desktops. If you like, don’t forget to drop a donation in the bin.

what an AWESOME idea. Too bad flickr users who do NOT upgrade to pro will not be able to have full-resolution backgrounds. (I think flickr limits users to 1024px wide.)
Good grief! This could spawn a whole new advertising trend of up front marketing -- maybe?
Are you fed up with downloading PDFs that you can't find when you need them?
Well, now you don't have to. Just sign up to our regularly updated catalogue of streamed underpants, and we at ArseLickr will have our pants up front and in your face, err, I mean, on your desktop in no time.
Our operators are waiting to sign up new dummies, err, I mean model citizens like you for our latest undergarments.
