I like having desktop application interfaces to online services. Call me an old fart or a purist, but I don’t want my applications in my web browser. They feel sluggish and awkward. As compelling as Ajax is, it still isn’t Cocoa. Going along with that theme, I use Cocoalicious to interact with my del.icio.us bookmarks.
Buzz Anderson, formerly of Apple, tells us he’s returning to the software after a hiatus. He had to leave the software alone for some time due to his responsibilities at Apple. As it’s an open source project, an enterprising developer took it upon himself to fix several bugs that had cropped up due to changes at del.icio.us.
A misunderstanding then ensued as that developer claimed to be the new developer and started up a new website essentially claiming ownership. Buzz didn’t give the project away and is picking up the torch once again. Good news. Hopefully we’ll start seeing some fruit of his labor once again.
