And my wallet felt just a bit lighter

SmileOnMyMac One of my favorite pieces of software, Textpander, has been acquired by software maker SmileOnMyMac. They’ll be renaming the software to TextExpander, dropping a perfectly clever name.

Gone will also be the sweet, sweet price of free. I’ve loved this donationware ever since I found it. It brought me back to the good old days of TypeIt4Me, which I felt like it had to be left back with OS 9. Textpander is more than a worthy replacement. I think it’s even better in many regards. I’m scared of the inevitable price of the product of this arrangement.

Dear Derik
have a look at TypeIt4Me 3.0 and let me know if you still "feel like it should be left back with OS 9" :-)
