Apple’s Aperture has competition. Today Adobe announced the public beta of Lightroom, which is sort of like Aperture, except from Adobe. (See the press release here.)
In the modern spirit of products that are in an endless beta cycle, Adobe says that Lightroom will be in beta for about a year(!). Derrick Story of MacDevCenter fame, who also happens to be a professional photographer, has a first look at Lightroom for our sister site, Macworld.com.
