Apple has released Security Update 2008-002 v1.1 for Leopard client and Leopard server. Here’s what Apple has to say about this stunning new release:
Security Update 2008-002 is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. Previous security updates have been incorporated into this security update.
Not really sure what kind of security improvements this entails, but one can never be too secure, right? Right. You can download the update by opening Software Update from the Apple menu, or by downloading the client or server installer package from the Apple Downloads website.
This update crashed my MacBook running OSX 10.5.2 It won't reboot after installation.
Update at your own risk.
thats weird its not showing up in Software Update for me. Oh well... downloading from Apple Downloads website.
=p
I have the same problem as Graeme. I just got my MacBook with Leopard 10.5.2 from the online Apple store earlier this month. I've downloaded this update 2008-002 from the Apple Menu software updates. When I try to run it, the installer just hangs and I have to hit the power on/off button to shut the machine down.
At AppleCare, they weren't very helpful. They told me to leave the machine on for a couple hours and it would eventually install. I did as I was told, but it never did.
From other forums I understand that the original version of this update wiped out people's printers and that other people besides Graeme and me were having problems with the new and improved v1.1.
Right now I'm using a wireless Broadband card for internet connections, but I live in the sticks with less than optimal reception and I hate the thought of having to download a 100 meg file from the online site.
At least, I'm running an Intego security suite...
