At a management forum in Germany yesterday, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that the iPod will soon be unseated as the leading portable music player.
What?? Microsoft’s going to release an audio player?? No, actually, he was talking about cell phones. Giving Microsoft the credit of actually inventing something to compete with the iPod would be preposterous. To quote The Man himself:
We will soon witness a lot of innovations and changes in portable devices. Portable music is not limited to iPods.
He went on to talk about a new generation of cell phones which will break the predominance of the Apple iPod. Ballmer also criticized Google, saying there was room for improvment on their search engine, because, you know, “Half of the time that we look for something, we don’t find it.” Very insightful Mr. Ballmer. And where has Microsoft jumped in to solve any of the problems with the technology leaders of today? Right.
I’m still laughing.

Talk about innovations, some one needs to tell Balmer about this new invention called the antiperspirant.

I just don't understand how they can sit there and bash other people's work, when they don't have anything better, or a product that competes at all.
...and Apple will probablt get right in with an "iPhone" and continue to hold the top.
