It seems like Windows Vista is just one big copy of Tiger, with it’s features mimicking that of Exposé, Dashboard, Spotlight, and others. But now it seems like Microsoft is trying to mimic Apple’s applications. According to Microsoft Watch, Microsoft is planning to release “Monaco,” an audio editing/recording app that would rival GarageBand with a very similar interface and features. Monaco will use Vista’s Aero UI, and may even be included with the OS. Monaco isn’t Microsoft’s only attempt at iLife-like mimicking apps, Max is Vista’s photo application which may compete in the marketplace with iPhoto. This just goes to show that Microsoft still lacks any ounce of creativity.

MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
Now we just have to be sure to make all our Vista-using friends know that all the "cool new stuff in Vista" was "cool new stuff in OS X" throughout the past 5 years.
And when Apple releases their iPhone, we can tell all you Apple fan boys that all those features were in Pocket PC Phones 5 years ago.
By the way, look up "Lookout", "Konfabulator", and "alt-tab replacement". You'll find that Apple stole all those ideas too.
I'm not saying Microsoft doesn't steal ideas. I should know, they stole two of mine because I didn't keep my big mouth shut around their employees. But you pointing to Vista as a copycat of OSX is no different than Apple ripping off the above-mentioned products. I mean hell, the core of Apple's OS is code written by volunteers.
