For a while now there have been many ways for a podcast to “get out there.” It can get featured on the Podcast Alley homepage, be chosen by Adam Curry to appear on his Apple-sponsored Podfinder podcast, or just be lucky enough to get on the iTunes Podcast Homepage. But now there’s a new way for podcast to “get out there.” It’s called the iTunes Podcast Spotlight, which is an e-mail newsletter-type thing that gets sent to people on the iTunes mailing list. In each edition it features podcasts from some selected topics (Comedy, News, and Video Podcasts were the featured genres in the first edition) and also gives a link to Apple’s “Tips & Tricks” page for how to use podcasts, and the top podcasts currently on iTunes. It’s nice to see that Apple’s making an effort to extend the podcast community and introduce new podcasts to people who may not know about them.
I just signed up to the new music letter on the iTunes music page (I am hoping this is the one). I wish I had known abaout this! I missed the first one... :(
Could you forward that first edition to me? If you do I will TOTALLY subscribe to this blog. ;)
Sure. Just check your e-mail.
