Picturesque “beautifies” your images

A creative addition to the crowded field of image editors, Picturesque is the new app from Acqualia software. It’s kind of an image “beautifier”, a simpler and sleeker ImageWell, with a interface that’s a cross between iPhoto’s floating palettes and Disco’s workflow style.

Why is this app good? Well, for one, the operation is extremely simple and very smooth. All of the controls, save for the save command (pun intended), are condensed into a single floating palette. Those tools give total control over the reflection, the glow or shadow, the edges (curves, borders and fades), plus a handy “Resize” section. Extras include batch editing and scripting via AppleScript and Automator (great for processing thumbnails). Yes, that’s it, but as I said, it’s perfect for what it does.

To give you an example, I’ve beatified the picture (see above) from one of my posts in about 30 seconds, no more. If you’re convinced, head over to Picturesque’s product page. A demo is available for your enjoyment, while a license will run you $19.50.
