Google’s Flickr competitor Picasa Web now has support for Macs through an iPhoto plugin and standalone uploader. We still don’t have Picasa itself, but we have its companion web service. Perhaps Google simply doesn’t want to invest the money into developing the Mac version when iPhoto works so well already.
I might play with the service and uploader, but when it comes down to it, Flickr is still a better deal with better features and an open API. I must give kudos to Google for supporting Macs, which is a good thing no matter how you look at it.
