Photogeeks, rejoice! Adobe has announced that Photoshop Lightroom (née Lightroom) is now shipping. Normally I would leave these camera-related announcements to our resident photog, Scott, but hey, it’s a slow news day.
The program has been in a long public beta—those of you who are still chugging along using that version should be aware that it expires on February 28th, just over a week from now. If you snap up a copy of Lightroom before April, it can be yours for just $199; after that, the price rises to $299.
Adobe’s also rolled out the latest version of its Camera Raw Plug-in which is required to provide compatibility with Lightroom 1.0 and also works with Photoshop CS2 and Photoshop Elements 4.0. I’d tell you what it does, but it’s total gibberish to me, so check out Adobe if you want the full deets.
