Mac GuyThere’s a study proving everything nowadays, including eggs are bad for you and eggs are good for you. Mindset Media has held their own study that delves into the world of Mac and PC users. As an internet ad network, it pays to know your audience. The votes have been counted, and analysis done. We’re arrogant.

Its recent Mac user “mind-set profile” — a psychographic ranking system that scores respondents on 20 different elements of personality — found them to be more assured of their superiority, less modest and more open than the general population.

On the other hand, PC users didn’t stand out except that they lacked creativity, deal with life with cold, hard emotional detachment. Like the borg. Adage has done their own analysis to go with the report comparing all of us to Justin Long. That’s right, the statistical size of the study was so small that it indicated that we’d all been in a movie with Bruce Willis. It was good working with him.

To heck with being in a movie with Bruce Willis, I'm thrilled to learn I'm dating Drew Barrymore.

I am not arrogant if it is true. I am most definitely more intelligent, and clearly superior than my PC brethren, if only because I love myself enough not to allow any of the crap put out by Redmond within a mile of my wonderful mac-centered life!

The only downside of my mac addiction is that I do indeed tend to express myself with never ending sentences whenever I am high on mactasy, which is quite often.... But who cares... I am still a lot lot smarter superior, not to mention wealthier thanks to the 680 shares of AAPL I've been sitting on since I bought them @ $38.00. Deal with it PC boy.

Too true. I'm a great lover (ask my wife), father (ask my kids) and programmer (ask my boss) and clearly superior to most other people out there.

Since most people acknowledge that (if not always openly, and even if some of my many, many friends like to jokingly refer to me as an ass), clearly I'm not arrogant.

And I use a Mac.

Wow! I WAS in a move with Bruce Willis! I was an extra in Die Hard 2 when they filmed in Denver. I never spoke to him but he did stand just a few yards away from me and we are on the screen together (he had a little more camera time than I did).

I would agree. Mac users are a smaller group that resisted the pull of the crowd (Microsoft). We got into it knowing that the hardware and software was better in all ways, but we also realized that there wasn't the universality of the product. I am a convert and these were concerns of mine when I made the choice. I always try to show others how much better my Macpro Laptop is and they are now often asking me to complete work with my free iLife and, more than reasonably priced, iWork software. Am I arrogant? Yes - because I feel I have a better product.

Does it make me "smug" or "arrogant" if I think this research is retarded?

Just curious, as I'm nothing like they say I am and use a Mac.
