In a recent Time article, Steve Jobs endorsed Apple board member Al Gore as a candidate for the the presidency (I even hear the guy was Vice President of the United States or something).
“We have dug ourselves into a 20-ft. hole, and we need somebody who knows how to build a ladder. Al’s the guy,” says Steve Jobs of Apple. “Like many others, I have tried my best to convince him. So far, no luck.”
I’m convinced. I can almost hear the ads now. Al Gore: former Vice President, environment advocate, movie maker, Apple board member, and ladder maker. This guy can do anything.
That is, of course, except loosen up. He makes Steve Jobs look like a wacky guy. I’m going to cross my fingers this won’t spark a virulent debate in the comments, but would you vote for Al? If you’re big on the Democrat party, do you think that Gore is a better man for the job than Barack or Hillary?

It's actually a very smart campaign strategy. People want what they can't get, much more than what they can get. The less he wants to be president, the more people want him to be.
loosen up? compared to the stiff dork in 2000, Gore 2.0 is a comedian. have you seen "Inconvenient Truth"? if that Al Gore had been running in 2000 he'd have won easily, but instead Worst Preznit Evah won partly because more people would rather have a beer with that frigtard than with some eggheady wonk.
I'd vote for him over any of the current crop of gasbags. at least Gore has the chops to pull off the stuff he talks about. Obama just talks, and Clinton is an opportunist who focus-groups every utterance. Undecided about Edwards at this time.
I would vote for Al Gore for President. Al Gore is a good man, a thoughtful man, and he has courage in his convictions.
Unfortunately, Al Gore is not very good at running for President. He seems much more at home leading his environmental charge so that is probably where he can make the most difference right now.
I'd vote for Gore, sure.
Every other politician I can think of is slimey (at the very least) in comparison.
Stick to making computers Mr. Jobs, you are really good at it!
Unfortunately, you aren't so good at politics! Gore would make a horrible President (though I'm not sure if he would be worse than Barack or Hillary!).
Sounds like Jobs distortion field is losing its touch. Gore is very funny, he was on Letterman last night talking about the Global warming issue and said something really funny about the name Gore, and the word Presentation in the same sentence is not something many will find exciting. LOL!
I'm not American but I am dubious of anyone who manages to lose a Presidential election to The Village Idiot, "rigged" or not. While I believe that anyone would be better than the current incumbent of The Oval Office I rather think that Al had his chance, blew it big style, and therefore it's time for someone else to have a try. No idea who this Barack character is but Hillary gives me the creeps and I rather wish that Bonkin' Bill was still in charge...
