Three months ago, Scot Finnie initiated an experiment. He decided to try being a Mac user until now. It wasn’t long into it that he helped identify things the Mac OS should learn from Windows. He’s now decided it’s a better solution than Windows.
After living with the Mac for three months and comparing it to my Vista experiences, the choice is crystal clear. I’ve struggled to sort out my gut feeling about Windows Vista (see “The Trouble with Vista”), but the value and advantage of the Mac and OS X are difficult to miss. While I continue to work with Windows XP and Vista on a number of other machines, I am now recommending the Macintosh for business and home users.
Before you decide you want to buy the man a drink (though the fact that he’s commented here kinda makes me want to), read the rest of the article. He bemoans the lack of a proper screenshot utility (check his criteria before suggesting anything). He’s also struggled with getting his email transferred (though, for this reason, I refuse to use anything but IMAP email). He’s also less than thrilled by the Mac browser options.
He is welcoming feedback and tips though, so let him have it.
