Of course, Apple can afford a lawyer with no problem, though their previous senior counsel, Nancy Heinen resigned some months ago. This morning, the company announced that they’ve hired a new senior vice president/general counsel, Donald J. Rosenberg, who previously served as senior vice president and general counsel at IBM.
“We’re thrilled to welcome such a seasoned professional to our executive team,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Don has a broad range of experience that includes litigation, securities, intellectual property and antitrust, and he will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters and government affairs for Apple.”One need look no farther than Steve Jobs’s statement to see a laundry list of legal matters with which Apple is currently concerned.
No word on whether Rosenberg, who is currently PowerPC-based, will be switching to an Intel-based processor.
