Steve Jobs afflicted with “common bug”, bug fixes include chicken soup, plenty of rest

skinny jobs.jpgThe iPhone 3G wasn’t the only thing people were talking about during yesterday’s WWDC keynote speech. Bloggers were quick to point out that his Steveness was looking rather thin, some going so far as to use the word “gaunt” to describe his appearance.

Steve’s health is naturally of paramount importance to Apple since he is regarded as the mastermind behind its wave of success over the last several years, and simply put, the guy’s irreplaceable. His frail appearance also sparked memories of his battle with pancreatic cancer some four years ago.

Quick to quell any rumors that Steve may be suffering from a cancer-related relapse, an Apple spokeswoman assured the Wall Street Journal that Steve was merely under the weather, hit with a “common bug” in recent weeks. He nevertheless felt up to the task of delivering his keynote, and in my humble opinion, did a whiz bang job at it.

We at MacUser wish Mr. Jobs a speedy recovery. We also recommend that he drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day, take multivitamins on a regular basis, not go swimming immediately after a meal, and…okay I’ll stop.

Not to mention he works like a dog. And if he's lucky, maybe eats once a day.

Steve Jobs needs to groom a successor and gradually remove himself from Apple Computer.

It is not wise to tie Apple's fortune to a single man.

No matter what Steve Jobs won't be around forever to lead Apple!

I was wondering if that was just me thinking he was looking unhealthy.

Since Steve is vegan, he wouldn't eat chicken soup. Maybe Amy's No-Chicken and Noodle, though.

The man can't win. A while back Macenstein posted an old Stevenote and claimed he looked fat (compared to some anorexic supermodel, maybe).

Get better soon Steve.

I hate to be a pessimist, but I was speaking with a doctor (another Mac person) the other day. He didn't know that Steve had had pancreatic cancer. When I told him this, he said that Steve's gaunt look made sense; he looked to him like a terminal cancer patient. I HOPE HE'S WRONG (but I'm afraid he's not).

@Kashchei, your friend may not be happy about you posting that. That kind of "diagnosis" is how Bill Frist lost his medical license.
