Hear that sound? It’s the collective sigh of relief emanating from Apple headquarters as the US Justice Department finally concludes its criminal investigation into Apple’s stock backdating scandal. According to the Wall Street Journal, the investigation has finally let up for good, with no charges pressed. Although Steve had pretty much been off the hook since last November, the case was still open, certainly leaving an air of suspense for those involved.
A number of civil suits remain on Apple’s hands, but with the Feds out of the picture, stress levels must be way, way down for Apple HQ. * whew * That was a close one. Let all this drama be a lesson to you, Apple. Play nice, play fair, and stay outta trouble!
