Italy is being blessed with two spanking new Apple stores, as confirmed yesterday by Apple’s retail director Ron Johnson. Both of the stores will be opening in Milan within the next year—one between Corsican Vittorio Emanuele and Via Montenapoleone, and the second in the Corsican Buenos Aires.
The central store, according to Johnson, will be “much more” costly than even the Manhattan location, and will feature the trademark giant glass cube—I sense fits of Apple-envy coming from New York in the near future.
He also mentioned the possibility of a store opening in Munich, Germany. This would be in addition to the giant Apple store set to open in Covent Garden in the UK.
So if you hit up Milan next year, chances are you’ll be able to enjoy some shiny Apple retail goodness in between sips of espresso and fashion shopping.

CORSO BUENOS AIRES, what has Corsica have to do with it??
:)
Where's the Vancouver BC Canada store?!
1 store for the world's second largest country is not enough!
Monaco is Italian for Munich. Bavaria is the German state in which Munich is located. So there are no three different locations "Germany", "Monaco" and "Bavaria" - it's all about a Munich store.
@houttbe: Thanks for pointing that out. The original report is in Italian, so I guess there was confusion during the translation process.
@Canadian, counting waters. When you omit the gaping hole that is the Hudson Bay, Canada is the 4th largest country (guess how many Apple Stores numbers 1 and 2 have).
Of course, I'm sure you knew all of that already. You just thought you'd throw out some misleading data, like the fact that Canada has only 1 Apple Store.
"The central store, according to Johnson, will be “much more” costly than even the Manhattan location, and will feature the trademark giant glass cube"
Well, this is not what the original article stated.
Ron Johnson said that the Apple Store they opened in Rome isn't in the city centre because it would be even more expensive than the one in Manhattan.
