One of the favorite things I’ve always liked about the iTunes Store is its exclusive content. Whether it be videos, interactive booklets, or entire albums, getting something on iTunes that only it has is kind of cool. Well today, a new iTunes exclusive, this time an album, has been announced.
The group They Might Be Giants announced today that their new album, “The Else,” will be released exclusively on the iTunes Store on May 15th, two months before the official July 10th release date. Of course, big They Might Be Giants fans will probably end up buying the CD when it comes out in addition to the iTunes download because of the included bonus disc. Still, it’s always great to see another iTunes exclusive album come out.

MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
of course, if you are just a mediocre-level TMBG fan, you may just get the advance from iTunes and pirate the bonus disc when it is released.
thats only fair right? i like to think that would take away from some of the guilt of stealing the bonus disc, since you already paid them for the cd.
besides, i say the bonus material should have been itunes exclusive too. we are trying to ENCOURAGE digital media consumption here, aren't we?
Hey "Well today, a new iTunes exclusive, this time an album, has been announced." is innacurate. It was announced last Tuesday on their email newsletter. Also noteworthy is the acft that TMBG is the first major band to have their music sold online, on eMusic.
i can just see it now...
