Rumors of the MacUser Podcast’s demise have been, it appears, greatly exaggerated. This was our first experience producing the podcast without the help of former host (and podcaster extraordinaire) Cyrus, so you’ll excuse us if there are a few kinks still to be worked out.
Scott and Aaron were unable to join us for this edition, but hopefully they’ll return for our next episode. For today, you’re stuck with Derik and myself as we discuss the brand new iMacs, the Mac mini Core Duo upgrade, Windows Vista’s pricing, Sony’s PlayStation 3 delay, and the forthcoming Apple special event and Apple’s rumored movie store.

Yes, it’s true, Cyrus has left us (and Macworld) for gadget blog Engadget. While Derik and I have taken over co-editing duties here, Macworld Senior Editor Chris Breen has assumed the lofty position of Macworld Podcast Host. Don’t miss his first episode. But don’t worry, Cyrus fans, you can still follow all of his writing with ease.
Apple announced brand new iMacs on Wednesday. Yes, I realize that means the podcast is behind the times, but we actually recorded it on Wednesday. It just took me two agonizing days to get the production ironed out.
Windows Vista pricing was indeed leaked in Canada before it was officially revealed here in the US.
We didn’t mention the shortage of blue lasers here on MacUser, but it was covered on the other blog for which Derik and I write, Macworld’s Gadgetbox.
Although we personally weren’t invited to Apple’s spiffy September 12th shindig, our colleagues at Macworld will certainly be there. We’ll try to have coverage as close to live as possible.
