MacUser PodcastWelcome back to the second installment of the MacUser Podcast. Our last episode was a WWDC preview, but this week’s roundtable holds the distinction of being the first to feature all five of our bloggers. Sadly, it seems it will also be the last to feature all five of us, since our own Cyrus Farivar is leaving MacUser for greener pastures. We wish him the best of luck in his new endeavors.

This week’s show discusses Derik’s experience with the Mac Pro, the lack of Steve Jobs at Apple Expo, the MacBook Wireless Hack (or not), iPods at War, and the My Dream App competition.

Show notes after the jump…

Show Notes:

As you may recall, though all five of the bloggers have Intel Macs now, only Derik has managed to acquire the pure silver shinyness of the Mac Pro. He discusses his experience with the new pro-level Mac desktop, from upgrading the hard drives to RAM scarcity.

We also discuss Steve Jobs’s non-appearance of Apple Expo Paris, and the announcement that Apple will be appearing at the Photokina conference in Cologne, Germany.

Everybody weighed in on the latest developments in the MacBook wireless hack that we’ve discussed several times.

Scott also talks a little about the Ars Technica article on iPods and other electronics in the Iraq war.

And Aaron gives us the straight dope on the new My Dream App competition, which we’ve discussed here and here.

Again, please send us your comments. You can reply in the thread below, or email us.
