MacUser PodcastDon’t worry, I’m not dead, just temporally challenged. In my excitement over my new Xbox 360, I, er, may have been somewhat tardy in showing up to this week’s MacUser Podcast. But don’t worry your pretty little heads over it, as we’ve still got a show that’s just fraught with the kind of insight and analysis that you’ve come to expect from the Mac world’s finest roundtable.*

This week on the MacUser Podcast, Derik, Pat, Thomas, and I are talking about the latest in the options backdating hubbub, Apple’s Q2 financial results, way, way too much talk about the iPhone, my inability to show up for a podcast on time, and Pat’s trouble with words.

AAC version (14.6 MB, 57 minutes)

Comments and feedback on the show are always welcome, so feel free to share your thoughts below, or in an email to macuser [at] macuser [dot] com.

Show notes after the jump…

Our brothers and sisters at Macworld have put up an excellent consolidation of news on the SEC/options backdating hullabaloo (can’t believe I spelled that right on the first try).

You can read my entire tedious liveblogging of Apple’s Q2 financial results, or you could find something worthwhile to do with your time. Like plant a tree.

John Gruber had a very good interview with Dino Dai Zovi, the fellow who wrote the exploit for CanSecWest.

My MacBook battery problems were chronicled a couple of weeks back. The new battery seems to have fixed all my problems…for now.

And yes, I did get an Xbox 360 (one of the new Elite models). I’m very excited. Should you wish to be my Xbox buddy, my gamertag is fnord23517.

Again, comments are welcome and encouraged. Drop them in the thread below or send an email.

Looks like Apple just provided a fix for the quicktime/Java security problem.
