MacUser musical blogging chairs (of blogging!)

Musical ChairsWe know how closely you all track the MacUser staff’s comings and goings, so let me take this opportunity to fill you in on some changes that have been going on in our headquarters, high above the stratosphere (besides, Mac news has been slower than the Funky Bunch’s career post-Mark Wahlberg).

First up, we’d like to welcome a former writer back onboard: Kate Marshall will be rejoining the blog effective immediately. We know that you’ve all missed her and I have it on good authority that she’s missed you all too (except for you—you know who you are, you). Unfortunately, we’re not at liberty to discuss what Kate has been up to during her hiatus (upon pain of being made to watch The Hills). Let’s just move along.

Of course, when fate opens a door, as the saying goes, someone gets thrown out a window. Or, potentially, jumps voluntarily—the investigation has been inconclusive. We’re sad to say that Macworld associate editor and MacUser contributor Brian Chen has departed both the blog and mothership to work at some upstart tech pub. We wish him well (although we’re sure he’ll be too important for us to associate with next time we’re in San Francisco).

Finally, a couple of reorganizations in our existing staff: Derik has moved from Co-Editor to the fancypants title of Senior Contributing Editor and Dan Pourhadi is now our Senior Contributor—we haven’t decided exactly what that means yet, but we plan to give him a lot more work. Or something. And I, dear readers, have taken up the mantle of Editor, solidifying my own iron grasp over the whole MacUser cosmos—mwahahahahahahaha—ahem. Excuse me. Something just caught in my throat.

All of the above changes are reflected on our shiny new about page, which also features fascinating biographical details of each and every one of our writers; we suggest you peruse it at your leisure (it goes well with a nice bottle of pinot noir).

So does this mean that a new entry level blogger spot for someone named Dan has opened? Or was this just an opportunity for the Dans to consolidate power.

I'm so glad I found this blog. I've read a lot of different sources for Mac news, but this is my favorite. Keep up the good work.

Dan,

If you want a west-coast teen representative, I'm officially throwing my hat into the ring.

Yay... Kate is back!!!!

On another note, I find it amazingly interesting that you are re-organizing your staff at the same time as Microsoft is. Don't tell me you are inspired by the Redmon behemoth? : )

Congrats to those who have taken a step up in the MU ladder. To those who are leaving (or left) boo is you!

Great site. But we need to get more comments around here. *I know, me included. Hey, at least organizational changes seems to bring in comments... wait, was this your strategy?
