Apple was granted two new patents today by the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office. The first patent is for a mouse that is clicked using the palm of your hand and makes contact with the surface of a table (an interesting design). The second patent concerns improved approaches for portable user accounts. This means that you might be able to carry your user account with you and load it on any supported multi-user system—a feature I can someday see the iPod working towards. Apple patents are always interesting because they sometimes seem so obvious, yet no one else seems to come up with them.
