Radiohead, which has been making a lot of headlines for the past few months because of their unconventional and bold decision to release their new album, In Rainbows, independently and with merit-based pricing (i.e. you pay what you think the album is worth) has concluded their experiment and released the album on iTunes Plus.
Initially the band had refused to sell their songs on Apple’s online music store because they were against the idea of selling the songs individually. However, the album is now available for purchase on the store and, unsurprisingly, you can purchase individual tracks for the standard price of $0.99 each. The whole album costs $9.99, including ten songs and a 15-page digital booklet. As is standard with iTunes Plus, the album is DRM-free and the songs are encoded at a bit rate of 256 kbps in the AAC format.
If you missed the chance to grab the album when Radiohead was offering it for any price you chose or if you’d bought it then but want to send some more cash the band’s way, grab the album from your nearest iTunes Store. No hurry though; supplies are unlimited.

Being the hardcore Radiohead fanatic; I purchased the $80.00 Disc Box set.
For me there is no better experience than having the physical media. The packaging of the Box Set is beautiful...
I must say though, for the amount of hype it got, it was a pretty good album.
As for physical media, there is an alternative. iTunes coverflow! I have long since gotten rid of my interests in actually having the CD case without scratches and such. With iTunes + Front row you just don't miss the joy of actually holding a CD. And I don't even play CDs anymore, just mp3s. After ripping it once, it lies there in the dust.
