You know you’re out of the loop, music-wise, when a band breaks album sales on the iTunes Store and you had no idea they’d even recorded a new album. Alas, the fact that I haven’t paid much attention to Maroon 5 since their 2003 single, “Harder to Breathe,” didn’t prevent them from selling more than 101,000 copies of It Won’t Be Soon Before Long during their debut week.
Nearly half of the download sales were pre-orders, according to Ars Technica, with early buyers receiving two bonus tracks and the chance to participate in a “pre-sale offer” from Ticketmaster. It Won’t Be Soon Before Long was also released as a traditional physical album May 22.
