iTunes Canada gets hockey (and some other TV stuff too)

Canadian TVO, Canada. Our great neighbor to the north. America’s hat.* We know you feel unloved at times. I mean, still no iPhone, right? We agree: ridicule! But perhaps now you’ll have something to cheer about: Apple’s finally announced the availability of TV content in the Canadian iTunes Store.

The shows are a mix of Canadian and US content, with programs from CBC and CTV as well as Comedy Central, MTV Networks, and, of course, what Canadian content would be complete without hockey, in the form of NHL Games of the Year and Stanley Cup Classics. What? No curling?

Show will cost CAN$1.99 per episode—hey, due to the declining rate of the American dollar, we’re now like the cheapest TV store around! Gotta look at the bright side somewhere. I’m sure the iPhone is right around the corner for you, Canadia.**

* I’m going to get it for that one, aren’t I?
** And that one too.

This almost makes up for the fact that we still pay way more for the same goods that you buy. Shopping trip to Buffalo, anyone?

Gotta hand to you guys, at least you acknowledge Canada. But if we're the hat, I guess you're the boot.

Oh, and I love you! (in a brotherly, friendly way. Don't get the wrong idea!)
