Being the Heroes fangirl that I am, I wound up purchasing a season pass from the iTunes Store so I wouldn’t have to miss a single flying, telekinetic, regenerative moment (and it looks pretty darn good on the MacBook’s screen, I must say). Imagine my surprise when I came home from Day Job tonight and found this intriguing email in my inbox, from the iTunes Store:
Thank you for downloading “Company Man” from Heroes, Season 1. The item you received had a minor, yet noticeable, quality issue. To remedy this problem, we placed a corrected copy of “Company Man” in your download queue. To begin downloading the new copy, click this link
Having already watched that awesome episode, the only glitch I could think of was that it still left many unanswered questions about Mr. Bennet’s work (but that’s part of the fun of watching Heroes). However, the replacement episode had already been downloaded to my computer so who was I to complain? It plays without any issues now but the iTunes support pages doesn’t appear to mention any problems from the original episode. Now my interest is piqued. The Case of the Problem Heroes Episode is afoot!
I had a similar message, but with and episode of Lost.
"Thank you for downloading "Not In Portland" from Lost, Season 3. The item you received had a minor, yet noticeable, quality issue. To remedy this problem, we placed a corrected copy of "Not In Portland" in your download queue. I got the same message for an episode of Lost. Interesting, neh?...
But I just had to say that I'm stumped as to when more episodes of Heroes will arrive. I'm totally hooked! Anyone?
The other thing I'd really like to see Apple do it offer pro-rated season passes for TV series. I never know if I'm going to like something until I see 2 or 3 episodes, and then I'm stuck paying for each one. I love the subscription model and all the notifiers I get when new episodes are available.
Along with BattleStar Gallactica, Heroes is one of the best shows that you're probably not watching. It's just brilliant!
cheers,
Mick
I'm just glad I downloaded the pilot for Heroes before they edited it down to remove the garbage disposal scene (and apparently other things since the original version is 53 minutes and the current version is 10 minutes shorter).
I got both the "Lost" and "Heroes" downloads automatically, before I read the emails. I thought iTunes was going nuts, giving me old downloads again. (It downloaded the same episode of "Lost" twice.)
I seem to remember seeing a visual glitch in "Heroes" a while back, but I don't remember if it was that episode or not.
Welcome to the modern world. I've gotten these messages many times. eg: Just got one for a "Lost" episode from a few months ago. They give you the fixed version, but don't delete the original "bad" version. Well, I guess they can't do that. Sh*t happens.
