Nothing gets by those folks at Apple, huh? This morning, there was a message waiting in my inbox:
Dear Daniel,As you may recall, this is in reference to the mysterious Case of the Mislabeled Music Video that was Actually an Unreleased John Wayne Movie. I didn’t expect much from Apple in the way of explanation, but I was hoping for a little more than “An error occurred.” Come on, Amy. Help me out here. Hondo is still at this time not available for download on iTunes. What other tricks may be in the depths of the iTunes Store?
Thank you for downloading the music video “Knights of Cydonia” by Muse. An error occurred, and the item you received was the wrong one.To correct this problem, we placed a new copy in your download queue. To begin downloading, click this link:
Or, you can open iTunes and select Check for Purchases from the Store menu. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our customer service team by replying to this email.

Go this message, which was amusing since I downloaded Hondo intentionally, and then got the message a second time three hours later. An explanation would have been nice but I will take the $2 John Wayne film instead.
Enjoy your $2 movie+music video combo, dear Daniel...
Yea, me too. Wanted to tell them that I had no interest in the Music Video, but that they should take note how many people downloaded a movie for two dollars, estimate the elasticity of demand from this data, and use this in their next movie negotiations to convince the studios that this is one case where they will make more money buy selling in volume rather than charging the most some folks are willing to pay! This was my first movie purchase Amy.
