Yay, Apple v. Apple is settled (pending the appeal). Stevie J. wants to show there’s no hard feelings, so he’s extended the olive branch of peace to Apple Corps. Only what’s this? Those aren’t leaves…that’s cold hard cash.
Steve wants the Beatles on the iTunes Music Store. And what Steve wants, Steve gets. Personal jet? Done. $0.99 price for iTunes singles? Done. A room wallpapered entirely with his magazine cover appearances? Welcome to my bathroom.
“We have always loved the Beatles, and hopefully we can now work together to get them on the iTunes Music Store,” said Steve Jobs in a statement provided to Macworld…”We are glad to put this disagreement behind us,”We know Apple Corps has been prepping the Beatles catalog for digital downloads, and the court case has certainly generated plenty of publicity. I, for one, wouldn’t be terribly surprised to discover Apple Corps’s appeal taking the magical mystery tour to Strawberry Fields. Forever.
