I rolled out of bed a little late today, and that was the first I’d heard of the Anti-DRM protests that Cyrus wrote about. Noticing that one of these shindigs was going to be hip-hop-happening at the Cambridge Apple Store, I ran through the shower on my way to my car, and set off with my camera, hoping to grab a few snaps.
Due to traffic, weather, and the fact that I’d gotten up at about ten of nine (and the protest was scheduled for 10:30AM), I arrived at the Cambridgeside Galleria around 10:45AM to find…nothing. The Apple Store was humming along, so I went in and checked to make sure I was in the right place and the right time.
After determining that I wasn’t the victim of a sleep-addled consciousness, I wandered around the mall for about half an hour; the only thing I saw was a pretty hefty police presence, which made me wonder if a) the protest had already been dispersed or b) the protesters saw the police and decided not to risk it. Either way, the cops didn’t look much like they were interested in talking.
Anybody have any luck elsewhere?

I was there early and the Cops said leave or go to jail and were all over us. So we left. One girl said a cop grabbed her ass and since she was a bit hot, I tend to believe her. It was an ugly scene dude.

I prostested by sleeping until 9:00, then going out for coffee at Dunkin' Donuts, and playing a few rousing games of Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space. Then I took a nap.

Here's a quote from the website that organized the events: "In Long Island and Seattle, security forces stopped the action and in Cambridge, they impeded it in a friendly manner. We have been informed that Apple security was also very tight in Dallas, Texas where several freedom fighters took a suprise visit to the local Applestore."
They have pictures from Chicago and San Francisco.
